Since the people of Lavinium know about Lavinia's dream, surely Ascanius would find out. Since Asanius was devoted to the word of the oracle, this would make him realize that it was the will of the gods that Silvius had to be raised in the woods with his mother, and not in a kingdom with him, treated as royalty.
Lavinia's plan worked out quite well, since she managed to keep hold of her son. Considering that the plan was completely improvisational, it is quite impressive.

In Lavinia's dream she hears this voice of an old man and feels her husband Aeneas with her. The poet's voice tells her that she is going to bring(raise) Silvius to a king and that Silvius is going to become a father of the kings. So Lavinia and Silvius decides to stay in the woods and live there until Silvius grows older. And to prevent Ascanius from taking Silvius, she decides to go back to where Ascanius lives and tells the people that she has to stay there because the oracle told her to do so.

A voice near me, by my ear, an old man's voice, was speaking softly: "...your last child, whom your wife Lavinia will bring up in the woods, a king, a father of kings."
I agree with Ji Yoon. The poet tells Lavinia that she should stay in the woods with Silvius until he becomes a man, then he will be a king, a father of kings. When the poet was giving guidance, it was like as if the poet were speaking to Aeneas or as if Lavinia and Aeneas were the same person. As the poet said, Lavinia decided to stay in Lavinium. When she was talking to Achates, she didn't stay the whole thing truly, but instead of saying the poet had told the oracle, she said Anchises had spoken to her. I think she lied because it was the only way to make Achates or Ascanius believe what she says and to make them obey the oracle.

The part where Lavinia and Silvius were having a conversation in the doorstep was my favorite moment in the book.
"Son of Aeneas." I kissed him
He kissed me back."I won't leave you" he said. "Never."
In this part, I felt the maternal love coming from Lavinia toward her son. I was able to see the dutiful personaility of Silvius at the same time. Always, stories of warm-hearted characters makes me to have a cozy feelings. Because of this reason, this conversation they had made me to smile when I was reading the book.
During the same conversation, there is another part where I liked. In this part, Slivius says that he can go to another country and pretend to be a farm boy to Lavinia. However, Lavinia says "No."
"You might. It would put th farmer's family at risk, though"
was Lavinia's full answer. I was able to see how thoughtful,careful, and warm-hearted person Lavinia is from her answer. She was thinking a lot before she makes a dicision and she was taking care of others too. Like the first part which I liked, this part made me to feel cozy because of Lavinia's thoughtful answer.

I think this touches on her acceptance of fate. She's so used to fate guiding her that she lets it run its course. However, once Ascanius sends for Silvius she finds she can't let him go, can't go along with fate if it means parting from her son. Running away is unlike her because she had always accepted what happened as what was supposed to happen. However, this time, she can't accept that because she can't bear to leave her son, the only living connection to Aeneas. She runs from what's happening, what fate has in store, and she runs from Ascanius. She's never fleed from destiny, but now she is willing to because it means she'll be with the son she loves.

I agree with both Ji Yoon and Sang Eun. The poet tells Lavinia that she must stay in the woods until Silvius comes of age to rule as king, and to become the leader and most powerful of all kings before him and to come. Although, it is awkward since the poet states, "whom your wife Lavinia will bring up in the woods,....." This seems to be spoken to Aeneas through the words of the poet, in Lavinia's dream. This guides Lavinia to stay in the woods with Silvius as the poet stated in her dream. This benefits her in the way that she will stay there and raise him by herself to grow as a strong and powerful king for the future. She then goes back to Lavinium to tell everyone of what her dream depicted and this helps her hold on to Silvius by explaining she must stay there in the wood.

Here, she is realizing and confirming the fact that everything the poet has told her so far has come true and he has been the only one proven to her, to be successful in guiding her. She sees that she has no reason no to believe and trust in his visions.

Here, Lavinia closely feels her husbands presence. The poet is telling her that Lavinia will be not only a king, but the father of all kings. Since the poet has not yet misguided her, shes raises Silvius in the woods, following the poets words.

Then she goes back to Lavinium immediately and announces to the people what she heard in the dream. This made Lavinia to keep stay with Silvius in the woods and justified it as a thing that had to be done by this way. It was a very effective way of holding on to Silvius for Lavinia.

I think that this random decision is much like her. Lavinia likes to act on her own terms and does not like to be told how to do things. One of her characteristics is being independent and in this on the spot decision, it shows very much that independent side of her. She also shows her stubbornness and how she wont let any one take her son away from her. She is very determined and she will never give on she believes to be right, even if it risks her life.

Lavina tells on Lavinium to tell everyone what she heard in her dream and this helps her to protect Silvius and herself. It helped her because she knew that Ascanius believed in the oracle and would listen to the oracle. So, when she told the people of Lavinius that the oracle told them to live in the hill, she knew that she would be safe because it was the oracle who told her to do so. And Ascanius would be able to do anything with that.

The decision that Lavinia made was a decision made by her at a very short and at a brief moment. While I was reading the book, it seemed to me that since it was such a short time, she might have made the wrong decision but as I read through it, I believed that it was a good decision. I believe it was a good decision because given the short time, she made the most effective decision because she listened to her heart. This is one of the characteristics of Lavinia that she doesn’t anticipate what she is going to do but choose choices by how she feels at a certain moment. This kind of action of Lavinia is shown in another part of the book where she decides not to marry Turnus and she decides to go to the forest of Albunea.

"While Silvius explored about the cave, I sat on the rock outcrop and watched the sunlight strike across the pale water through the low mists that always hung above it."
I love this quote because of the imagery and the sense of peacfulness it brings. Throughout this whole story it talks about nature and it's beauty and this definitaly is talking about a beautiul view. I also find this scene intriguing because it sees to be discribing a beautiful moment in her life too. Maybe a moment she wishes she could stay in although she of all people knows the past is inescapable.

I believe that "wolf" (in this reading) represents the more rough, dangerous. and dirty side of nature most people would rather ignore than have to deal with, and the fact that Lavinia embraces that shows what a free-spirited and courageous character she truly is. Earlier in the reading, these traits are also exhibited when Lavinia, with her companion, stands outside the den of a protective mother wolf without fear. Lavinia has a sort of foolish courage about her which I find very admirable in a person, and the likes of which I have never seen before in reality.
