In pages 10 to 39 Bella is at Edward's house with his family celebrating her birthday. When she tries to open the gift that Edward got her, she accidently cuts her fingure with the silver paper. Because Edward's family is a vampire, they couldn't resist the smell(?) of Bella's blood. Jasper especially went out of control and tried to kill Bella which made a lot of mess. Bella, got hurt because of falling down on the broken glass.
Extra: I think vampires being able to smell human and human blood is the same with human smelling different from other animals. For example, fish smells different from human. Although I don't know what human smells like, I think it going to be different from human. And if this is true, the fish might feel the same way, they might think that humans smell bad. I wonder what human smells like.

p.28-40
The speaker of the story was Mitch. After Mitch and Morrie met each other, they had a long conversation together. They also ate together and spent time. Mitch found his old professor becoming very weak and he wasn't feeling good about it. He felt guilty about not keeping in touch with his professor for last sixteen years. Even though Mitch is feeling some sympathy toward Morrie, Morrie doesn't want him to and himself doesn't feel depressed about it. He accepted well his fate or his death. I think that Morrie needs to be respected because it's usually very unusual for a person to acknowledge and be opitimistic about his/her death. However, Morrie is the unusual case.
I finished my book.
Liz accuses Luc of telling her best friend a secret she had entrusted in him. they didn't speak for a while but in the end the evil girlfriend gets dumped by Luc and runs off with Luc's cousin whos band resently signed off on a contract with a huge company. Luc sucker punches the english dude in the mouth and Liz and Luc live happily ever after! I oved the character of Liz. She was a fat girl turned skinny, wore vintage clothing and had a very humble and awkward sense of humor. She was very charming.

This book is 100% scarier than I expected it to be... I almost stopped reading tonight because I was terrified.
So, Jonathan goes up to a tower int eh castle at night to look out over the country and longs to go outside. However, he gets surprise as he sees the Count climb out his window and scale down the side of the castle "like a lizzard," his cloak floating out behind him.
He sees ti a few mroe times and realizes that the Count is not just emotionally unstable, but not human. He's scared and fears for his sanity.
Next, he REALLY fears for his sanity as he relays what happened to him the past night while he was exploring the castle. Jonathan hasn't found a single "living" soul in the whole castle aside from himself (and the Count, if he counts... No pun intended). The Count says he's going out on business and tells Jonathan not to fall asleep anywhere in castle but his own room because he will have bad dreams, and dangerous dreams.
Jonathan doesn't listen and decides to fall asleep in the old ladies' quarters of the house because his room is so gloomy and the moonlight is so nice there throught he tall windows.
HE wakes up to see three women who cast no shadows. They sort of flirt with him with their actions, whispers, and giggles. Then, the golden one with "saphire eyes" bend down to his him on the neck, but end up smelling his blood. Her teeth press into his neck and he is lost in extacy when the Count suddenly appears, and his eyes glowing red, grabs the now screaching-with-fury-at-loosing-a-kill girl by the neck. He hurls her across the room, and the other girls continue to flirt. They say, "You've never loved," to him and he denies it looking at Jonathan. He says, "Yes, I too can love; you yourselves can tell it from the past." Jonathan faints.
Extra: Two new sides of Dracula are revealed in this chapter, making him a much rounder character. We see his animal, beast form with teh crawling down buildings head-first and the hurling of the young woman, and w see heart in him, the ability to love, and his ability to admit it though it's almost like a weakness. His character is brought into a new like, and Jonathan ends up looking the fool, almost the antagonist in this chapter. It's a masterful twist the author has incorporated. Dracula becomes the hero, and Jonathan becomes the stupid young man.

Book: Uglies
Author: Scott Westerfield
This section of the book begins with a character named Tally Youngblood. Tally is ugly, although she is a normal 16 year old girl in every way, in this world she is not.
Another Character that has been mentioned in this book so far is Peris. He is one of Tally's best friend..or so she thinks. He is a boy who is exactly 3 months older than her. Now, on each and every Uglie's 16th birthday, they are able to get this surgery. They have the advantage from turning Ugly to Pretty. Because Peris is already 16 and three months older, he has already went to the Pretty side and has not kept in contact with Tally. Only one letter has been sent from him to her.
The setting of the book so far is very odd. It is kind of in a world that doesn't exist or will soon exist in the future. There are two parts to this world. The uglie part, and the pretty part. There is a distinct difference between these two worlds, the environment, the everyday objects, even the people. The differences of these two worlds are so different that if you were to enter either one of these worlds you would be recognized right away as to where you are from. It would even go to the point of being arrested, maybe even death by entering a world in which you are dared not to. The ugly world is one in which everyone goes to bed early doesn't have fun and so on. While the pretty world is one in which you are forced to have fun and to always have fun.
The beginning of the book starts out with Tally in her house. It begins telling us that nothing had ever been the same since Peris has turned beautiful. She then takes her interface ring off, chews her toothbrush pill, and then escapes from the window. Now was only one way this was possible, to escape. It was possible because she took off her interface ring. Later in the reading it explains how the interface ring is something that sort of identifies you to all mechanical, technological working machines or devices, such as the house, or an elevator. Without it you are invisible to the media world. The reason she was escaping the house was to go find Peris, her best friend. Tally had done this before with Peris, sneak out of their houses, and cross over to the beautiful side, and spy on the pretties. It was so much fun and easy, that Tally was almost sure she could do it alone, although she would have to travel farther than she has ever had to travel before, to get to the home of Peris. The first action she had to do was to attach this string to a bridge but she was not identified by it because her ring was off so this was easy.

Although, there are these skimmers that I think are security that travel around Uglyville to make sure everything is in place and that no one is crossing the river which is forbidden. Tally had done a dangerous task of memorizing the map from Uglyville to New Pretty Town. One wrong turn, and she could have been "toast." After crossing the river she reached the Pleasure Garden, here she was scared and encountered a couple passing through. But she was soon creeping towards more danger, into the bright, open streets of New Pretty Town. When she entered, to her luck there was a parade, sort of like a mascarade/mardigras party in the middle of the central street. To her luck, she grabbed a pig face mask and continued her journey to finding Peris. She knew where he lived from a previous letter he sent her. Even though her gave no address, she knew the trick for decoding the numbers on the envelope. When she came to Garbo Mansion (the place of Peris) she saw it was fat, bright and loud. It was between two party towers and people were everywhere, it was like a dorm room, but very pleasurable and parties 24/7. Tally entered the building but to find that many people were interested in her as to her "costume." Her clothes were so ugly and dirty, and she was wearing a pig face so she stood out from the black tie event which was occurring in Peris's party tower. Tally still continued to look for Peris, but people were not only laughing at her now but they were following her to tell her to leave, since she was not invited expecially with what she was wearing. But suddenly she found Peris, and they ran to the elevator together, the crowd still following her. She yelled for the elevator to close but without her ring she was invisible. Quickly, Peris yelled for it to close. They began talking about why she had come and it was to see him. He was very upset and dissapointed with her since she could get in big trouble and risk herself never to becoming a beautiful herself. She agreed with him never to come again until it was her time, he told her she only had a couple weeks to wait, but she didn't want to. After having this long conversation, it was time for her to go, but she could not escape, Peris suggested she jump off the roof, and too grap a bungee jacket and jump off the roof to go home, since these were there in case of a fire. When she got to the roof, she yelled fire, and everyone went balistic. As she was flying to the ground, someone screamed, "Isn't she ugly..?" Was her secret revealed?....to be continued.
I decided that I had to change my book because for some reason, I couldn't get the setting of the story. I changed my book into the book called Queen of Babble. I was so amused how she could read it that fast and I thought that it must be a funny and entertaining book so I borrowed it from her right after english class. Just to make sure, I read the first paragraph of the book and I knew why Savannah read it so fast. Because it was about a girl our age, possibly. I haven't read a lot yet, but I am loving the introduction of the book. I've read a chapter and it is very funny. I like the book that the narrator is the girl. The girl's name is Lizzie and she lost thirty pounds for her boyfriend Andrew. Andrew seems to live in a foreign country and she decides to visit him. When she got to the airport, she found a guy wearing a red jacket that looks horrible on him. She later gets worried that Andrew wouldn't be able to find her because she changed a lot and she asks for help. Finally she meets Andrew and it was the guy wearing the funny red jacket!

I decided to change my book! The book 'the luxe' was keep changing it's setting and I got confused a lot when I was reading. I know that I didn't even reached the part where it has the main story of the book but it was kind of boring too. Maybe I had expected too much....?
Anyway, I was still reading the book without enjoying it and I was very happy when Yeena asked the question I had to Mr.During this morning.
My new book is called 'Chicken soup for the teenage soul on love&friendship'
I get lost easily when I read a long book so I was looking for a book made out of many short stories. This is why I got inteested about this book. It is a book from my friend who lives right next to my room and she suggested me to read this book because it was a book which I was looking for.
I'm planning to read 3 or 4 stories per day.

Where I left off, Remy and her friends were waiting for their friend Chloe to show up. Well she finally came and all the girls went to a bar to listen to new bands and have a good time. They all used their fake I.Ds to get in since they were underaged. As Remy walked into the bar someone nudges up against her and Remy finds herself facing Dexter again. While Dexter was trying to talk to Remy, she just kept walking through the crowd and ignored him. Dexter even sat down at there table and made himself comfortable. But he had to leave because he was in one of the bands performing. Thanking god that Dexter had left, Remy met up with her boyfriend and they both went back to his house because he needed to get something. This was the perfect time for Remy to break it off. It was just what she was waiting for. But as Remy setttled on top of her boyfrineds bed, she stretch her hands behind the bed board and found a red bikini bottom that wasn't hers. She confronted her boyfriend about it and he didn't know what to say. So Remy left in a huff and left her ex behind.
The story then goes on to Remy working at her job at Joie's Salon. She is their receptionist. Remy took the job so that she could pay for her own car with out the help of her mother. She is very independent and wants to do things on her own. Remy takes calls and helps people to schedule appointments for waxes and manicures. Remy is very strict with the customers, but she doesn't fool around and she always gets the job done.
The Old Man and The Sea by Ernest Hemingway

In these few pages, the man and the boy he has befriended share a couple beers together on his porch. This section of the book continues to describe the Old Man's relationship with his fellow fisherman and the people around him in general. He is a very, very lonely man, and although all the older fishermen around him acknowledge to each other that he has awful luck and will probably never catch a fish again, they remain very polite and kind to him, whereas the younger, more arrogant fishermen make fun of him, less compassionately than the older ones.

I read Chapter 5 of Pride and Prdjudice. In this chapter, Mrs.Bennets and the family in Longbourn talked about the ball and about the mens who came. they first talked about Mr. Bingly. They said that he seems to like Jane, who he danced with two times. Also, one of them heard that Mr. Robinson asked Mr. Bingly who he think of as the prettiest, and he said that the eldest Miss Bennet. Then, they talked about Mr. Darcy. They all said that he is a very unagreeable man. When he was sitting beside Mrs. Long but he never talked to her until she asked him a question. His pride stops him from talking to everyone and think of himself very highly.
I think everytime women gossips the subject is always about men. I think it is because at that time, women normally did not have job and their main job is to get married and to take care of their houses and families.
Ovid, The Metamorphosis

This next brief story is about Callisto and Arcas. As Jupiter is repairing the Earth from Phaethon's damage, he spots Callisto, the favorite nymph of Diana (Artemis). He immediately falls in love with her, and goes down to her, disguised as Diana. Soon thereafter, he rapes her, and impregnates her.
Nine months later, Diana and the other nymphs discover that she is pregnant when they go to bathe in a river. Diana curses Callisto for defiling them, and the waters which they bathe in. To add insult to injury, Callisto gives birth to her bastard son, Arcas. At this point, Juno realizes that Jupiter has been unfaithful to her, and curses Callisto by turning her into a bear, but keeps her human identity and mind.
Fifteen years later, Arcas, now a youthful hunter, is camping in the woods when he comes across his mother. She recognizes him, but, of course, he doesn't recognize her. As she approaches him, he raises his spear, ready to strike. Jupiter, all the while, is watching, and stops Arcas before he unwittingly kills his mother. He transfigures them both into constellations - the Great Bear and the Small - so that the tragedy will forever be remembered.
This is an example of the typical, tragic interactions between the gods and the mortals (humans) that is recurrent in Greek mythology. Humans, in general, are better off without interactions with the gods. Unfortunately, it seems that the gods are all very flawed and emotional, resorting often to id-like actions.
This story is an excellent example of this. Callisto, a simple nymph, who, basically, minds her own business and is respectful of the gods. Jupiter, a lustful god, falls in love with her, and decides that she must be his, as so often happens. This, obviously, ends up in disaster for her. It seems that it is a sad fact that the gods are just as flawed as humans, except for the fact that they are all omnipotent and childish to the extreme.

Last time, I left off where Bella finds group of students looking very different than the others. She found something very interesting from watching them. She stared because their faces, so different, so similar, were all devastatingly, inhumanly beautiful. So Bella asks her friend Jessica about them. Jessica says they all are adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Cullens. As she examined them, the youngest, Edward was gazing into Bella's eyes. Of course, Bella thought he was very handsome. But Jessica told her not to even bother being interested in him, because apparently people think there is no perfect woman for him, and nobody is good enough for him. Afterwards, she started walking to the classroom with her awkward, and shy friend Angela.
The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong

Chloe is now 'on the run' and missing. Her arch-enemy Tori has joined her and her friends Derek and Simon and they're living on the streets. When Derek and Simon go to look for a safe spot to sleep for the night Tori is mad at Derek for treating both her and Chloe like damsels in distress and they decide to take off and look for a safe spot to sleep though Chloe tries to convince Tori not to take off. But Chloe ends up going with her.
Chloe and Tori end up being attacked and Chloe's face is cut up and she's almost killed before Derek comes and pulls Chloe's attacker off her.
